MINEX Central & Eastern Europe took place on 3 June 2020 and was the first edition of MINEX Europe 2020 series of online mining events. It was then followed by MINEX Western & Northern Europe on 1 July and MINEX Southern Europe on 2 July. 

Summary 

The Forum was launched with the Keynote Session on Impact of Covid-19 on Mining Industry in Europe, featuring speakers from the European Commission – EASME, Department for International Trade and Canadian Embassy in Serbia, Montenegro and North Macedonia. The session provided an outlook on the current state of the regional mining industry and offered a view of post- COVID-19 domestic and international developments. 

Mining Hotspots Session sponsored by SRK Consulting focused on mining in Serbia, Bulgaria, North Macedonia, Bosnia & Herzegovina. Presenters from Central Asia Metals, Adriatic Metals, MINEX Group, Strategia Worldwide, Parivodić Advokati / Lawyers provided an update on regional exploration, mining, and business potential. 

The session was followed by the Plenary Session on Present and Future of Metals and Mine Financing. Investors and professional advisors from CPM Group, CRU Group, Midas Touch Consulting, European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Toronto Stock Exchange, and London Stock Exchange Group examined the current state of the financial market. They discussed new alternative financing for the mining industry in the current climate.  

Technical Session was the last one for the day and showcased the R&D projects and technologies aimed at improving mining efficiency presented by speakers from Howden, Artel. Pro, talpasolutions, SRK Consulting (UK), Slovenian National Building and Civil Engineering Institute, The Technical University of Kosice.  

The Forum concluded with MyMine online networking event which offered the participants from across the world to meet each other, exchange the contacts, and discuss the questions they raised during the Forum.

MINEX Central & Eastern Europe was broadcasted live for nearly 6 hours and consisted of 6 sessions which featured 27 speaker presentations. 347 people have registered to watch the broadcast before the event; the number of unique viewers on the day has reached 427 people. During the breaks, delegates and viewers networked in the virtual meeting rooms hosted by 13 Exhibitors.
